Northwell Health System on Long Island, NY is seeking an ambitious and motivated physician for a Fellowship in Microsurgical and Advanced Breast Reconstruction in our Eastern Region. This one-year fellowship seeks to develop the next generation of leaders in plastic surgery.
Northwell Health System has an exciting opportunity for a non-ACGME, one-year Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction Fellowship. The applicant will be have a junior associate role and a salary commensurate with PGY level. Subsidized housing is available. The successful applicant may be considered for a faculty position at Northwell. The fellow will work with a highly experienced faculty that performs 200-300 microsurgical flaps per year and be exposed to a wide spectrum of breast reconstruction techniques including DIEP flaps, Hybrid Flaps, Innervated flaps, Robotic-assisted flap harvest, alternative microsurgical flaps, lymphatic reconstruction, oncoplastic reconstruction, implant-based reconstruction and revision surgery. The trainee will be instructed in Enhanced Recovery Protocols, Operating Room Efficiency, Program Development, Managed Care Contract Negotiation, Hospital Alignment and other key areas needed to develop a successful quality program. The fellowship provides the trainee a varied experience of performing complex reconstruction techniques in a community environment and how to achieve consistent outcomes in a range of clinical settings. There is also the opportunity to assist faculty with research endeavors.

Applicants must have completed a residency program in plastic surgery and be able to satisfy all requirements for licensure by New York State and all the surgical credentialing requirements at Northwell Health.
This position requires:
-M.D. degree or D.O. from an accredited institution
-Successfully completion of an ACGME accredited program in plastic surgery prior to employment commencing
-An unrestricted New York State Medical license prior to start date of employment
-Malpractice insurance - cost will be covered by Northwell
-Successful credentialing by Northwell Health hospitals and clinics

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity.
