William Carey University invites applications and nominations for a Board Eligible/Certified DO or MD to teach Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in the College of Osteopathic Medicine. The faculty member will hold the academic rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with the experience and credentials of the candidate. The William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM) seeks a DO or MD to provide instruction specifically in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. The ability to teach in one or more of the biomedical/preclinical courses or clinical disciplines would be beneficial. The candidate will have administrative responsibilities commensurate with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Works with Course Director(s), Department Chair, and Associate Deans to integrate and implement WCUCOM courses into a four-year, seamless curriculum using onsite, distance-learning, and other standard and emerging technologies.
- Reviews relevant WCUCOM curriculum in its entirety and recommends pertinent suggestions to the Course Director(s), Department Chair, and Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences.
- Teaches in assigned courses.
- Serves on WCUCOM committees, as assigned.
- Assists in the selection process of students to attend WCUCOM.
- Assists in student remediation as necessary and as recommended by the Promotion and Matriculation Committee.
- Assists in the interview process for prospective incoming faculty.
- Makes contributions to the advancement of knowledge and the development of osteopathic medicine through scientific research and community service.
- Participates in community relations efforts to extend and enhance the visibility and reputation of the Department, the College of Osteopathic Medicine, and William Carey University.
- Serves on state and regional societies, agencies, bureaus, and committees of the profession and specialty or discipline.
- Complies with WCU and professional standards and regulations including, but not limited to, ADA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety training.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Course Director(s), Department Chair, Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences, and the WCUCOM Dean.
