West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology/Oncology and the WVU Cancer Institute are seeking a Physician – Hematology/Oncology qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor or higher rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Oakland, Maryland at the Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC), West Virginia University Cancer Institute (WVUCI) affiliated community site.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of hematology/oncology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will oversee chemotherapy administration, inpatient consultations, community outreach, and collaboration with the cancer disease team specialists through multidisciplinary teams located with the WVUCI.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Maryland and West Virginia medical licenses. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship and be board certified/eligible in hematology and oncology at the time of appointment. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
